The Foundation has established the following priorities and associated actions for the 2021 year.
Establish a Survivor healing and wellness granting program
• Engage an Indigenous specialist in program and evaluation design • Review existing 60s Scoop Survivor service delivery programs • Consult with Indigenous healing and wellness experts to develop program design and criteria • Initial call for funding proposals in Fall 2021 • Review and selection process for submissions • Aim to make grants by end of year
Hire an Executive Director and plan for additional resources
• Engage Indigenous advisor to develop job description • Launch recruitment process • Conduct candidate screening process • Hire Executive Director by Fall 2021
Develop key board policies and procedures
• Adopt new HR, finance, and fundraising policies in Spring 2021 • Identify best practices for additional workplace and operational policies • Draft new policies under leadership of new ED, for board approval
Establish operational budget and investment strategy
• Set out cost projections for the next 12 months • Establish investment short and long-term investment goals • Assess and select an investment management partner with proven success working with Indigenous organizations
Develop and implement a communication strategy
• Outline communication objectives to support the Foundation’s goals • Identify communication tools, tactics, and resources • Establish a visual brand for the Foundation, including an official logo • Redesign the website to create a better experience for visitors
